Meet the Team!

Our team of pet sitters and dog walkers is made up of excellent pet care professionals. They each have strong backgrounds in pet care and are true animal lovers! Each team member was carefully selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants and has been background-checked and reference-checked. All team members are pet CPR and first aid-certified, and are insured and bonded as employees of Rebecca Marlin Pet Care. Hillary and Shaudia cover Berkeley, Oakland, Albany, Kensington, El Cerrito, and lower parts of Richmond. Josh and Melissa cover Hercules, Pinole, San Pablo, and the Hilltop area of Richmond.

Hello, I'm Hillary! I grew up in Oakland, CA and I have lived in the Bay Area my entire life. In the photo with me is my fur baby, Barry Allen, a.k.a. The Flash (not really, he's very lazy!).

I have been working with cats and dogs as a pet sitter for about 4 years, many of whom were delicate and old of age. Whenever a pet has needed me, I've been there for them! It's always a pleasure to take care of and help pets in need. Even if they aren't mine, I still treat them as if they were my very own furry babies!

I am currently in college and will be getting my associates degree in the IT department this spring. However, because of my strong love for animals, I have decided to switch tracks and continue studying to be a veterinary technician.

In my free time, I like to play video games or have play time with my cat (or often both at the same time!). I also love going hiking and being outdoors, and enjoy it even more when I have the company of furry friends!

My name is Shaudia and these are my lizards, Dexter (bearded dragon), Mitsuki and Maru (leopard geckos)! I was born and raised in the East Bay where I had a ton of exposure to all kinds of animals when I was growing up. I have always had at least one animal in my life and have experience with caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, fish, and birds.

I am currently attending college and have an end goal of being a veterinarian. I understand how imperative it is to have someone you trust looking after your pets because many of us treat our animals like our babies, so I can guarantee your pet will be getting nothing less than the best treatment from me! I am looking forward to meeting your pets and taking care of them like I would take care of my own.

Originally from Iowa, my wife and I have traveled all over the country living in Boston, Chattanooga, D.C., San Diego and San Francisco. I’m especially grateful for the furry family members who’ve been with us through these transitions over the years because no matter where we’ve been they made our place a home and filled it with love. And fur. And toys. And paw prints.

Primarily an English teacher and a writer, I can attest that cats are some of the world’s best editors. Several felines have helped me grade papers and work through revisions, often with strong opinions about what I am doing with my life. They’ve taught me what it means to support them, too. Some of our pets have had special needs requiring daily meds and regular checkups. I’ve cared for them through all phases, from fostering newborns to holding senior loved ones in their final moments of rest.

Currently we have three kittens, Peach, Papaya, and Kumquat, who were rescued in their first weeks of life and are now almost a year old.

In my free time I work as a mentor with youth in foster care but can also be found writing short stories, singing along with the radio, and looking for good restaurants.

Hi, my name is Melissa! I was raised in Albany and now reside in Richmond. My husband and I live with our two dogs, Ein and May, and our cat, Loki (he opted out of the photo!).

What I bring to Rebecca Marlin Pet Care is 10+ years of professional animal husbandry experience. From humble beginnings at a low cost veterinary hospital in El Cerrito, to a prestigious rehabilitation/complementary medicine facility in Oakland. In addition to my professional experience is a lifetime of personal experience. I've had dogs and cats my whole life, as well as exotics at various times.

When I'm not pet sitting, you can find me gardening, hiking with my pups, or volunteering for Contra Costa Search and Rescue. I can also occasionally be found at ComicCon or sporting events.

I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
